Papa Jay (Radio Smorgasbord) Owned this classic on vinyl back in the early 1990s. It was one of my first death/thrash records in my collection. Grabbed the remaster here recently. Worth checking out for all who like OSDM. Favorite track: On The Burial Ground.

If you think Sepultura is the only decent metal band from Brazil, you definitely haven’t heard Opprobrium! This death/thrash monstrosity has been infecting the metal scene for more than 20 years now, at first using the name Incubus and then changing it to Opprobrium in 1999. “Beyond the Unknown”, Opprobrium’s second album originally released in 1990, is still considered one of the finest releases in the history of death/thrash metal. The intensity of “Beyond the Unknown” remains as powerful as before – this is truly a metal experience you cannot miss out on!

The year 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of “Beyond the Unknown”. To celebrate it, the album has been re-issued on a golden disc, digitally remastered using 24-bit technology!

never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
